Perched high in Bottelary the prevailing south-easter or ‘suidooster’ wind gusting off False Bay is fierce and unrelenting. As it carves its way around the granitic outcrops between the vines it delivers small berries, shaping a Shiraz with deep concentration and refinement.
A full-bodied dry red wine.

85 % Shiraz, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon

In The Vineyard

Vines planted in 2001 on weathered granite soil. Yield of 4-6 tons per hectare

In The Cellar

Harvested at 23.8⁰B and fermented until dry and pressed gently into stainless steel tanks. After malolactic-fermentation, the wine was aged in a range of 2nd and 3rd fill 300L barrels
